While I was in the boxes in the garage at the weekend...

I found all manner of things...

Happy Santa Decoration on a felt heart..is one of last year's design 

Santa with Holly was the year before the above...with a tighter scalloped edge....

A lot I knew where in there & some fabrics & painted & stamped fabrics I renewed some memories..

In amongst the memories is this fabric painted santa face....which I did from my Christmas book ( Woodcutter's Daughter one )

for a Gathering weekend in Warracknabeal a while ago now.

There was also a bon bon that the painted face was also attached to.. or here we did a little bag to hang from a tree.

I have traced out some different Santa heads etc to paint when I finish an order...it's lovely to go back to fabric painting...

Then in the boxes I also found some Santa & rabbits stitchings that folk had stitched for me

Some of these became wood decorations in square postage stamp frames for a season some years back now.

Today more Xmas Button cards are loaded into the website. this is one of them !!

Brrr it is cold and foggy....as I wrote that a watery glimpse of sun has appeared.

Getting that winter time fed up style this week !

Anyway I have cheered myself a bit with these gorgeous carded buttons

The second set of Red Ladies has also gone onto the web this morning....

they were waiting to perhaps be taken someplace but they waited ....waited & are now ready to move on in a new life. This one has a Marilyn button in it

It was 14 years this week since Mum died & we were all orphaned...

it seems a long time ago but also not so long....

memories of all sorts are often very present in my memories.

We all move along.... out of step for a while & for as long as it takes...

Wonderful thing is we are all unique... so this too is our own journey...

I must get going & tidy up what I see in front of me....

Yesterday was a 6 . something day, very cold for this area...it gets cold but not snow cold that close...

today I began much earlier than I had anticipated with a doorbell ring not long after 7.30am...

Sleeping nicely & woken to my parcel delivery from Saison ...

I use Nesti Dante soap as it lasts long & has adoreable lasting perfumes & I treated myself to their NEW perfume... 

I have always said if they made perfume like the soaps I'd roll in it...

I have not rolled in the perfume ..Yet.

It was a fabulous deal as I connected with the newsletter a $10 discount first order, I ordered the soap too.... & when I delved into the box this morning there is a second soap, a sample perfume & a sample body cream..

It is an indulgence & it is something I don't do a lot of in these days..  

You know what is wonderful about making customer connections with other companies who either do so much of an unique trade or specialise in a niche market.

I feel I come home...

it reminds me...

how I should aspire to...

in what I do....

It

also reminds me so vividly that it is surprising

of my apprenticeship days in a hairdressing salon..

where French was the leading in product...

where customer service was taught...

where dress was ctitiqued...

hair was expected to be well groomed....

the perfumes from the products we used in the 1960's .....

It transports me back 

to all of this...

My work is smaller than what I am talking of here.... it is online...so one doesn't get to reach with the same degree of customer connection...

My smile is missing...

However...it is  so much to be aspired to again & be reminded of again.

When I paint my buttons or decorations...it is with the utmost care.... 

I paint love into each Santa, funny deers, flowers, cats..

Each is individually loved as it is worked on...

This is a creation I cannot cut corners on....

It is cold & now dark & raining ...6.2 degrees at 3pm...& the kangaroos are in the paddock close by again.... 

I had a most divine parcel arrive today from one of my brothers who is a perfumer in some ways & I now have many perfume sample phials in the favourite perfume notes I love...

I will never need to buy perfume again...

See I am grinning from ear to ear.

It was like Xmas & birthdays in one box...

Somedays things just present themselves....

I had removed folders from the decorating space for the Christmas in July

I put some folders on my table for exploring later..

I found some really pretty pictures...

This first one was a series of stitchings & some buttons...

These were stitched for my samples...

I am always drawing santas !! 

Finally these stitcheries have made it to the website in this set of 3 which includes the postage for $10

There are a good lot but when they run out I won't redo them 

These were also stitched samples for me using my favourite quilt pattern log cabin

These work very well on this small tree...

I thought 6 of these or 8 on a small tree could look very interesting !!

The large 12 cm star deer has come onto the tree now too.

Now the shelves are getting some base props ready for a layer of my designs

I can nearly touch the ceiling !!!

A NEW SANTA & A NEW DEER have been sent off this morning for making into a new button & the santa will come in as a decoration also ... well I will know when these designs are prepped & cut for me.... bit exciting though.
