Today I got into designing these after breakfast...

I am so amazed at what I keep finding in that box of buttons...

they get to breathe new life now

Love the sampler layout..

I know Christmas is over but it is never far from my paint brush 

This has been an excellent lesson for me as I find a series of buttons or start with one...in this cae it was the blue Pere Noel

Now what I think...

then I move the buttons in the box with my hand....sifting...

oh a winter tree....now it needs to pull the design in a bit..I find the edge of a decoration

&

So it goes on.

Now I have 2 excellent layout packaging designs !

This sheet began with the everyday...cats, birds, gardens & farmland themes...

soon I was still wandering about in Christmas...LOL

Well I couldn't quite let go of the box of mixed buttons...
you know pop them away..
without having a little play as my meal was cooking...

I have done another 8 button sets...one off's...
I am keen at the moment to maybe replicate this first one...
but it is about $36 in buttons ...
I love the look.

This  is what happens when one is restricted to what is at hand.......
A great designing exercise !!!

 some flowers to stitch...

Admire the architecture..
the heart at the top of the houses....the windows ..

Just as I really do on walks in Bendigo...

Look up & at & you will see what I see !

Daphne in grey had also found her way in the box of goodies....

 Today was my last day of work until

Days that stretch before me with very little committment.

I thought I'd fallen into a pinterest dream store.

It is just a most exciting shop.

It is housed in part of the old Butter factory & don't be fooled by the entrance as a bit of industrial businesses in that area...

Industrial decor for the building is something too...

Spacious with a sense of harmony as one moves around all the beautiful gift ware...

I wanted so many things !!!

Then I turned into this Christmas Shop

& 

I backed out to ask if I could take some pictures with my camera....

&

there would have more but the camera battery went flat LOL

not all are retired stock...as you will see ...they arrive in a box of painted stuff...& it adds to the story...like a mystery quit in a way....

This tidy up has revealed some gems.....

I did these late yesterday

&

popped them on the web  .....all at $10

After dinner & all that entails I sat to watch a TV program & sort the raw stock that was flopping about in at least 3 plastic work boxes & loose here & there...

I did a pretty good job of that ( I thought )

Then all the stray painted stuff was tipped into one work box 

Guess what ....there is quite a box full...

So this little tidy up will be ongoing for a while yet LOL

Then I will have a nice clean start...

&

Some of you will have buttons with sweet layouts to inspire your creativity at a great price & one off in the use of the buttons & the stitching design I have given on each set of buttons.

This is how I tidy up ( LOL)

Having a fun time drawing little tidbits around these buttons on special ...

None will be repeated knowingly as i draw them up as I grab a few buttons  to .... ?

Most I have priced at $10.....& these fit into the large letter box...how convenient is that !!

Some are colours I play with on my quiter moments...some are not...maybe a tinier size ..some are not in the current collections but they are always lingering close by...

So enjoy this little tidy up with me LOL

Taking you back into my past....

The older button stories...

I spotted the bottom picture of the Fence Cats I did so many of & more later with the Danish distributor at the time....& eevry so often I would glimpse how they had become...

recently I came across this again & did a cringe...the embroidery kit it was worked into is lovely..

Then I wandered down the hall to get breakfast & start to pick up stuff I had plonked on the table when I am working on orders many things have to be set aside to work on the orders....

so I have things pending

In the middle of a plastic box of raw older buttons was a plastic bag containg the belwo button stories.

The songbirds of robins in berries I still love  I would say it was one of the first ...like 2006 or 7

&

I really got weary of painting the robin bird....mmm maybe ???? 

The house with birdies was just buttons I quickly added to what was a house & 3 weeny sheep ..

but see many themes of buttons work..

So if any of these you have ..and you have some button stashes loitering about...see what fits...

I am now quite enthused to get into somemore of this work for next year now...

The days are moving fast & posting to reach International destinations are not guaranteed to reach you before Santa does...

Australia has about a week's grace unless something can be express posted & me paint ( LOL )

Yesterday I posted off an order & began to "tidy up" my paint table...

It didn't last long I soon found the bigger decorations waiting to find a storage home..

So I painted some....

This isn't the angel I did yesterday but same size....I didn't get a good photo of it yesterday...

I often think

Why reinvent the wheel as I do think with why copy, be an original as often as you can....

The Santas are 23cm tall & other pair are 12 cm...

It has been so long since I have done bigger Christmas ornaments..

Bit of a contrast from a tiny button of 3cm or 5cm !!!

As I sign off the rain is a little heavier... sounds so lovely.

I was looking thru some quilts this morning on pinterest email as I keep a quilts I admire page there..

I surely did admire this quilt & went in for a closer look as suddenly I saw what I thought was one of my lady designs from Bless Them  Stitchers book...there she was sitting under that apple tree in the most glamorous of settings...

I look up & the cats are there too...Simple Stitchings my very first book under Woodcutter's Daughter label....well we all know that cats enjoy quilts & pretty things & these 3 are no exception.

I love how these few stitching blocks have been worked into a most divine quilt ....

If my dim memory serves me correct this was done by an UK beautiful quilter some years ago...

But see how you can use the stitcheries... I don't need to give you some quilt ( you would be waiting a while ) being creative is incorporating some of your needlework with some glamorous blocks

Into today... in the post arrive 2 more very BIG santas...so all 3 are now at 23cm tall

& I think they do look very charming & hang from a small Christmas tree

I have only 4 of each except the Call Me Santa at the back I have got more in...

I will certainly take a few of these jolly chaps now to the Quilt Show in July in Melbourne..

But you know you can get them now ( when I put the others on web)

Does anyone recall the bag of buttons I sold last year before I left Canberra ???

Well I have more just freshly bagged to scan etc for the website..

Each bag is a mix of painted buttons &/ or decorations 

for $15 per bag.....for from 15 to 20 ish gorgeous things..surprises.

 I need to check the post box so they can fit snuggly into the most economical of painting..

You know the good thing is no waiting for me to paint these ..all painted  

They will go on web tonight ..or that will start ..
