 *A little strip of decorating with buttons that I popped on the front page of my web...

The mini decorations on the tree

* Then a corner of my living area..with a white china rabbit I could not resist from Factory & Field on a recent trip to Cohuna.

* Mini decorations strung across a small canvas frame & red stars & red triangle buttons in a row ... ric rac & gros grain ribbon

* The last in the strip are decorations hanging from a wire memo board... saving some favourite sayings from places I have found them & my lovely old but such use is the white twig wreath.

Today in the newsletter from Craft Industry Alliance in USA has an article worth reading on what affects the USA importing from China Tariffs will have on the quilt fabric & craft items produced in China.

This basically will raise prices by and then the items are handled & exported to us here...in Australia.

 Added a couple of the large decorations to sit under the tree....

all in a white tray.

These are also the mini decorations which are 4cm in size...

add some ric rac or ribbon or both !!!

Maybe couple more buttons to add a little border..

Here we are.... on the newest laptop...

good to have but still a struggle in some ways to get everything back to "normal" for me to just do stuff LOL

The NBN phone/ internet is also playing it's own tune...

as well as our political turmoil of the last few days...

Only need the NBN to play up as a reminder of some of those decisions !

Onto better things...

I have scanned these next batch of carded  decorations ready to load onto the website ...

maybe today....

While I was lying in bed this morning trying to return to my lovely sleep...

I had such a profound topic to write about today ....

But it's gone !!!

I received my replacement computer yesterday morning, paid another $50 for a slighter upgraded model....it has been set up...but I still need to get the scanner in action.

I honestly do not understand this bit...

My photos did come either...

In the morning I forgot to take my posting with me... so went out again ...& decided to pop into Mon Coeur for some Nesti Danta soap...Jenny was in the midst of taking delivery of 100 kg table....

So I left her to deal with that....

The weather.... today we have icy snow driven winds, rain & just plain cold...

but in NSW not that far away it is drought & so many big bush fires....with strong winds...

Overseas is floods & sweltering heat for summer.

and

I wait for an authority to replace the bigger computer... so I can once again load photos & scans etc..

Meanwhile ..amusing myself...

This little frames sample is  a few years ago now...

The bunny is off the website these days but can come back if ......

What this does show you is the way buttons of my designs can be used...in this case with mother of pearl buttons which I have a passion for...always

Like linen, mother of pearl buttons....they stay together...

This was a modification using later buttons than one of my very first Button Stories...the first has a delightful cat sitting on flowers in a button & a cat face button I once designed...

So take some cats or dogs..add some embroidered flowers & then put the work onto a bag or frame ....that sort of thing.

 This too was one of the very early button stories....it'd be maybe 15 years now, as Mum has been dead 14 of those years & this was before she passed...

Actually I went to Cohuna on Friday. Sun shone, calm day & off I went out of town...

It was 14 years in late July since Mum died & I went to check on them both & Theodora is just down the way a bit too...

I strolled the grounds of my childhood home....with a friend who met me there...we went on to Factory & Field for a browse in the gift store & have a coffee there...

Factory & Field's one  room is closed in prep for the

CHRISTMAS SHOP opens usually in SEPTEMBER..!!!!!

I think it is the BEST CHRISTMAS SHOP....

I checked some of the stores in the main street & visited another friend...

Time to drive back....

Actually look it is the Home with round trees, that house has been modified a bit but was one of the first batch ever.......

What a day it was

What a day it was yesterday.... it began fine with scanning the next mini decorations batches for great prices.....I had soooo many & now I want to give them at a wonderful price for folk to use in sewing projects or hang from trees at Christmas or tie to parcels or even do an advent thing.......

First the NBN went walk about & finally I got the strength to phone to get that working again...

Then oh POWER is off... while our pollies rattle on in Parliament about our energy policy all I wanted was my heating to be back on & the garage door to lift up..... somehow that didn't want to lift up manually...

On phone to the roller door company to seek advice for what I might be doing wrong...nothing as it turns out.....

Then I get part power... how weird was that... I rang the power people who were fixing & it was probably a brown out.... turn off motors & fridge as not enough power to draw on...my jug lit up but would heat.

So I was stuck in the house...I had thought I'll go out to keep warm ...not happening LOL
Happily not so long after this the power was restored & all waltzed back to normal....except me I think.....

I go & do one item I wanted to do....& back home.
I think from some obscure part I have to tackle this HP laptop overheat again... this time where I plug the charger into computer had developed a heating thing....it was finger HOT...
I use that laptop for photos, for writing the blog & updating website & newsletter....oh & scanning my work in......
All was going super well with the company BUT I have no idea where the sales docket has gone. I often keep them with the box....but that had gone to Singapore in Feb for fixing the computer.
So today I am off to the store for hopefully a resolution....
Now today I wake & my leg/ backside situation has changed & it feels freer but high pitch sore...
But I am determined to make this day a really good one.... wish me luck LOL

This photo....is a divine building in the heart of Bendigo which was in a previous life a function centre & I got to teach in the building under chandeliers......isn't it a most exquisite façade?

Framed up Button ideas

Before I start my blog I wish to pay a tribute to Angel cat.

Yesterday my brother's cat Angel left him after 20 years and 4 months and a couple of days.

She was an extraordinary cat.... 

What wonderful love & care she had....

Dear little puss cat.

I have a new style of frame that I bought in anticipation for the new Christmas buttons...

Yesterday I trial a few different looks on what is a small deep frame I used the mount that it came with & thin paper. 

Fabric could be cut to backing board of frame & spray with glue...to form the base to work on..

Could be fun, printed, striped...spotted or plain. 

Plain give the buttons more oomph...but I am a bit biased in that department.

What I have is a mix of new designs & some lovely older designs.

As I look at them this will form some of the packaging ...for future directions...

I need to weigh them up so postage can be easily slotted into the price....

How exciting this is for me...

Frames are just one way of showing you how simple the buttons can work....

The selections & layouts can make wonderful stocking, hangings, bags....or use the buttons individually or a few with some stitches....get that creative force going !

The motifs have tiny leaves cut out & sit on etched branches etc.....

I went through a phase of mixing fabrics stitchery & buttons....about 10 years or more ago now.

These for me are timeless...

I Love them

I was also indulging in a lot of ric rac at the time too !

There were the samples of the stitchery now on my website..
