At the mucking about stage

That decorating stage where no plan, go by feel.... start here & end up over there
While the TV ads are on sometimes this happens....
Sometimes it just distracts me enough that I venture forth.

A bit like the design business in a way.
There are several pushes & pulls & well a lot of calculated risks
Then I wonder am I too locked ....something needs to be shuffled... to see what happens..
Postage rises again & again...
Speaking of postage this part is great... I have 2 parcels due for delivery today.
One will have those natural cardboard tags I used in last season's advent calendar & the Noel which remains on my website just waiting for this moment !
I am going to sell these cards in packs so you may just want some.

The other is restocking order with some gorgeous variations & the donation for an event in Cohuna in Nov.... this might be worth staying in for LOL

I had pondered the idea of a Daylesford drive this sunny morning...
As I breakfasted & did a load of washing.... the clouds rolled in as I went to peg my washing on the clothesline.. ( typical)

 I will save that.

I want to see a house makeover from Selling Houses Australia that my friend is sales person for at Napier St WhiteHills Bendigo....it is on realestate.com.au
& also
I saw the Violet Street School in Bendigo is celebrating 150 years & is open tomorrow.
My Mum went to this school & often made reference to it as we were growing up.
They moved a bit so somehow I figure this school was important to her....maybe I'd like to step inside as she once did....
&
I may do a delivery which means a drive...
Choices !!!

Oh that reminds me
I went to see the EDITH HEAD Costume Designer to Hollywood exhibition
at Bendigo Art Gallery on Wednesday  ..
Many dresses that were in famous movies are on display ....
Film clips & an early interview with Audrey Hepburn....
What I was drawn to most were the huge pictures of her working in her studio...
the jar of paint brushes drew me in.(.like the nectar to a bee in a flower garden)
The sketches by some of the unknowns from which costumes became, the sewing people...
&
I pondered...
this was the process in a huge company ....
from the story line to how they were depicted which was the part of a road map that the designer took to a whole new level
Copyright when working for big companies is not acknowledged for the individual talent or idea you then work for the company & are paid by the company.& it is the company's identity

How sad for that illustrator, who worked in the shadows ......
I hope always they were paid well
*
It is one of the reasons designers who illustrate, scribble their name on all sorts of rough sketches
& of course the finished product  ...
to acknowledge the original & if we are working on our own with no backing we need to ensure that the work is known who created it ....
It is the only asset the designer has...

I often think when someone does take a copy to reproduce it often has no "life" it is stilted in some of it's form...
the soul does not come with a copy...just my opinion....
As the designer walks a particular pathway...
the work comes from their life experiences & interpretation of that
& also ways in which they may have found their way through the world..
how they see it..
It is unique !
