This was a fluke...

I had a bag a various labels

&

thought Oh toss them....

Then I opened the pack 

&

the wooden decorations were near by.

This red scalloped paper label gives you some great food for thought ???

Well it does for me....

Red felt with a smaller in line off white felt to place under the shapes

Or

you could buy the packet of labels...

I am thinking of some other solution for myself.....

But I really love this look !!

Gingerbreads have been changed to 5cm   nice size for stranding together or sewing into projects...

Found these tags ...they come in a pack....think I collected them at a spotlight store ..

They are a great little tag to decorate with.  There are kraft coloured ones & different shapes also..

I had the last of what was loitering from the Grab Bag specials on a box...getting in my way only because I wanted to play with them !

After I came in from a dinner engagement last night....

I happily sat & made little stories on each tag with what I had at my disposal...

I was amazed when I came apon this by sheer chance.

It would have been one of the early button stories I did

&

I see on the label it was under the Woodcutter's Daughter

& 

the 
PO box tells me it is 2004 or 5 maybe...

These Buttons
 were some of the first batch I ever did ! 

I see the cat has fallen off..it would have been Meow cat ...no cats here now either 

This and another long big Christmas story were in a Homespun magazine editorial I think.

The houses have weathered well !

FOOTPRINTS  in THE SAND

This is a BIG Button Story...about birds !

I was going through an old sketch book & this happened recently too..

in this case I really liked this layout.

Added some buttons to give it a really soft look...

This is an A4 size... 

just comes with the design

 & 

the 6 buttons 

& 

postage for $25

This design can be used also in parts each bird & the nest has it's own story...

You could start by using the centre piece as a quilt..then add these birds as separate little stitchings to compliment the quilt....

Or make a journal cover, needlecase coves & so the story goes on...

'Manilla Tags ... these look nice with some washi tape...& if you see what Tim Holtz posting has done with manilla tags on her webpage...

you might be very busy for an hour playing.

Have fun... this button is also a robin in blossoms & an aqua bird & also a pink one...

It is a symbol I used on my web page some years ago now 

I love tags....these were for last March when I went to Monbulk Quilt show 

The circles are dye cut on copy paper...

kraft paper tags  & some pretty soft white ribbon tape 

Below you will see some small felt affairs....including the egg cup covers that were in a French publication this year

I love this look & want to explore it some more soon

I loved this for a few years & it has travelled to many a display thing with me & a couple of buttons have come unstuck in this simple advent calendar

Some tags.. if this neutral colour is not about.. use the manilla ones & spray them with ink or the old tea/coffee spraying technique

Add my buttons.... use double sided tape or of course sew them on LOL

Stamp numbers, Typo usually has a set of interesting stamps at a reasonable price

Some baker's twine

& a canvas painting board & more double sided glue...

This could be a nice shop idea  too..

Tags are always so useful in our world of having a great time very quickly

Hours of stitching can be replaced with quick decorating touches..

Make this a NOEL with a button on each tag...

or

Merry Christmas...

& so it can go from there.

As I was ready to go somewhere...

There is the small little banner with the 3 santas on it.

This is such fun... pinking shears fabrics as I layered triangle template some ribbon to sew straight across the 3 triangles sooooooooooo quick & sew or double side glue these on & hang 

That board at the bottom is just a canvas board in that linen fabric which I bought & did this when I lived at the beach several years ago....but it has not dated in my mind anyway LOL

It is those things we keep, fab ribbons & old bits of lace & c

couple with my buttons... what fun again !

Love them ... and I must paint a lot today !

I have had a delight of a girlfriend in Canberra from Melbourne for 2 days & we have spent time together.

See what can be done with a few pieces of felt & some of my Christmas buttons & decorations

snowflakes... little primitive angels,plum puddings, santa with the tree & a white deer...grey 25th December & a winter tree..

Bush trees & star to border a stocking 

Snowmen with the French rabbit ..any of the decorations 

can be simply layered in felt onto a heart or a stocking etc...

add some contrasting stitches...

so simply quick & easy

but so strong and happy 

The plum pudding looks rather lovely on the pale blue, then under this a little bit of red felt & all laid onto a white stocking in this case or a hear etc etc 

The topiary tree with the bird is on a little bag & blends into Christmas time so well too.

I imagine that could be the gift bag to give to a gardening friend with seed packets inside...

The winter snowman is there on a cone ... little gingerbread man is also on a small cone..

What Fun...

It is a pity I have other things that distract me today..

but perhaps I have inspired you to play today...

Spotted Stockings

 I don't really have the time to be dallying in my blogs...

but

I have a kind of need to settle some order within myself..

So here I am !

Some of these have been blogged before but it's been a while since I encountered them & leading into Christmas a few quick ideas are always handy.

If you don't have some of my buttons ...well .... do I need to say anymore LOL

BUT

With one piece of divine spotted linen the scene can change over & over with a decoration or button reconfiguration 

A couple of the buttons have retired for now but most are in the current range.

 As I was saying star & reindeer

 These hearts are in a stash so will do some if you want to order any

 This robin has legs now but will sit inside the wreath...as will other small buttons...

the family cat or dog needs a stocking

 I have finally sort of moved to the newer computer....it had a manufacture fault & has been repaired but it had other things to put back after that..so I lost interest.
Then the other day I finally got it all going well & here I am with other photos...

 I am happy to find these white versions of the bigger Christmas buttons ready for the website.....

sometimes things just work well ..

other times no !  LOL 

 I love both the red & white versions.... etched details on each of them.....
